Too Early for Christmas?

I hope not :) Today I wanted to share an advent calender I made last year. I saw something similar on Two Peas so I can't take credit for the idea to use a mini muffin tin for this, but I did have a lot of fun trying this idea out. I bought magnetic sheets at Hobby Lobby and cut them into squares to cover the openings of each hole and then covered each with some Christmas papers by Imaginisce.

The numbers are thickers that I simply added to 2 circles I cut with my Creative Memories Circle Cutter. I used 2 different fonts of thickers.

Inside each cup is a mini figure from the nativity. I found these at Hobby Lobby. I had to buy 2 sets to have 24, so there are quite a few sheep and camels, but I also have some extra figures in case we ever lose one.

The boys take turns opening one each day. It has turned out to be a very good way to keep them focused on the true meaning of Christmas during the holiday season :)

I've got to run kids to school now, so that's all for today! Have a great day!

I've said it before, but I really do love the street we live on....

...it just couldn't be better! So I scrapbooked about it (of course) :)

I did this layout with the awesome Nov. kit from My Scrapbook Nook--that I told you about in the last post. I love everything to do with Cosmo Cricket and this kit is full of it! I believe there is only 2 of these kits left, so if your interested in having one for yourself, you might want to hurry :)

The journaling reads:

We are so blessed to live on our street! We have such great neighbors and there are some really awesome kids for our boys to play with. We have block parties with them, celebrate the end of school together, baby-sit for each other and on any nice evening you can find the families outside visiting with each other and the kids playing games, skating, or riding bikes in the street together. We love our street! --Spring 2010

Wow, I didn't know blogger could copy the font too! Awesome! I guess you learn something new everyday :)

Have a great day everyone!

2 Winners!!

I have an ugly head cold so this will be short today, but I wanted to first share a little something for the season, and second announce the winners of my book giveaways.

This little card was something I made a couple of years ago and was published by Scrapbook Trends in their Holiday Idea Book last fall. It seemed appropriate to share again here as fall has finally come to Texas and Thanksgiving will be here before long! :)

This card features the Mr. Campy line by Cosmo Cricket--which is one of my favorite lines from them!

And now on to the winners! I used Random.org to select them:

So congrats to Trisha and Kelly Massman! You each will get a copy of this awesome book and a small sampling of the Humming Bird line! Email me at GingerWilliamsPhotography (at) gmail.com to arrange claiming your prizes!

I'm off to go find some more meds for this cold....and maybe take a nap too if I can talk Spencer into it!

Have a great day!
